Baseball (Women)
Sydney Women's
Baseball League
 |
Women of all ages and
skills come along every
Sunday in winter to have a swing, get their eye
in and test out their arm. Whilst we have many
competitive players who
will give you a good run for your money, some of our members are new to the sport, perhaps having only ever played softball
or cricket.
Our players are a
diverse group from a range of
backgrounds and experiences. Although we are
based at Moore Park, near The Entertainment Quarter, women have been
known to travel from all corners of the greater Sydney region to join us
- spanning the Northern Beaches, the west, the Shire and the Hills.
Also, if you are
injured or have just put your cleats out to pasture, the League is
always looking for coaches and umpires to help out the League. |

Rugby
Sydney Convicts
|
The Sydney Convicts was
formed with two broad goals in mind -
1. To provide a forum
for gay men to play
competitive rugby in an accepting and supportive environment, and
2. To represent
Sydney in the local rugby
competition, and in tours and tournaments in
Australia and abroad.
The unofficial
goals of the Convicts are to present an alternative image of gay men to
both the mainstream and the gay community, and make football accessible
to those who would otherwise be discouraged from playing rugby by
perceived prejudice in the mainstream football community. |

Soccer (Women)
The Flying Bats
|
In 2010, The Flying Bats are celebrating their 25-year anniversary as Sydney's premier lesbian football club. The club was formed by a group of women wanting to provide Sydney's sporty lesbian masses a safe and supportive environment in which to play football. Since then, they have grown to become the world's largest lesbian football club - although they are not exclusively lesbian and welcome any and all women to join their ranks.
While football is what brings the Bats (a not-for-profit, amateur football club with a non-political agenda) together, it serves as a launching pad for so much more. From social nights to weekends away, participation in Sydney's GLBT events and many other social pursuits (many of which involve the pub), the Bats is more than just a sport - it's a community.

Swimming
Wett Ones Swimming Club
|
Wett Ones is Sydney's
Gay and Lesbian Swimming club and was established in 1991. We are an inclusive club and welcome all lesbian, gay,
transgender, queer,
bisexual and heterosexual swimmers and their friends interested in swimming and related activities.
Our goal is to
support and encourage
swimming at all levels in a friendly environment. While our main focus
is on swimming in the pool, our members compete in various carnivals,
ocean swims and triathlons too.
At Wett Ones, we try
to cater for all swimmers:
the beginner to the advanced. Because we use
several lanes, we have a program to suit you in
our swimming sessions,
from stroke correction
through to advanced training for competition. Our coaches are all accredited, ensuring training is
soundly based.
