Bentstix is one of the world’s leading gay and lesbian hockey clubs and is based in Sydney.
Bentstix was established in 1996 during the Sydney Mardi Gras Festival as a social network of like-minded players. The club has since grown to become one of the world’s largest and most successful gay and lesbian hockey clubs, with over 70 active members consisting of men and women, gay, straight, lesbian and anywhere in between.
2012 saw the induction of Bentstix Hockey Club women into the Eastern Districts Women’s Hockey Association Competition. For their first season into the competition they gave ED4 a shake-up finishing equal third, just out of finals contention on goal difference.
We currently have one women’s and two men’s teams competing in Sydney leagues, and we also field teams at competitions throughout Asia and the rest of the world.
In February each year Bentstix hosts the annual Pink Hockey Tournament in Sydney, a one-day round-robin event intended to promote hockey, sportsmanship and fun and is open to all players.
